Italy has a prominent position in the European dairy industry: it is the largest producer Country of PDO Cheeses.





This Country:
  • accounts for 8,2% of EU milk deliveries (year 2018),
  • exports dairy products, converted into milk equivalent (ME) for the 29,6% of the milk deliveries,
  • accounts for 4,8% of EU dairy exports in ME (year 2018).
