How does gDT work?

• a table containing current market prices in Oceania, in USA, the latest auction results and historical weighted average prices of previous auctions (all prices are in US$);
• a table containing current market prices in Oceania, in Germany, the latest auction results and historical weighted average prices of previous auctions (market prices in Oceania and auction price results are in Euro and as exchange rate date has been considered the day before the auction);
• a table (show/hide) with the total quantities offered *, the volumes bid during the current year, volumes offered at the current auction and previously;
• some graphs that compare the quantities offered * and preliminary (source Dairy Trader, by contract period,) with the weighted average price and the market price of reference.

* Since September 2011, there has been a 3-month delay in the publication of the "supply by contract" results, in line with the globalDairy Trade Market Rules. Data refer to Sold Quantity (Winning MT)

Note:

Auctions are conducted through an internet-based electronic trading platform (globalDairyTrade - gDT).
Quantities offered and prices refer to three different contract periods.
From 2008 to August 2010 the auctions have been conducted on a monthly basis, as for September 2010 on a fortnightly basis.
Since auction 52 (20th September 2011): there is a new Contract Period and DairyAmerica has started to sell SMP on gDT platform.
Since auction 65 (3rd April 2012): Arla has started to sell SMP and Murray Goulburn has started to sell Lactose on gDT platform.
Since auction 67 (1st May 2012): there are 6 contracts, each with a single delivery month.
Since auction auction 86 (19th February 2013): Fonterra has started to sell Butter 82% on gDT platform.
Since auction auction 93 (4th June 2013): India's largest dairy brand Amul has started to sell SMP and WMP on gDT platform.
Since auction auction 95 (2nd July 2013): DairyAmerica will start to sell ”Unsalted Sweet Cream Butter“ on gDT platform.
